BEVERAGE

Characters offers a fine selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. This includes many domestic and imported bottled beers, local wines, well drinks and back-shelf liquors. Our selection of alcohol is based on patron requests and some beers are available in the can.

Sorry folks, no draft beer.

FOOD

Food Services by arrangement and bar snacks offered. But, lunch specials have been suspended indefinitely do to the high increase in food cost.

REAR PATIO

Our outdoor patio, as well as the bar, is available for parties and BBQ's. The patio is themed after the French Quarters in New Orleans. 

ENTERTAINMENT

Characters' event calendar list upcoming events. Many events are annual, e.g., Mare Island reunion, holiday parties, certain fund raisers, Chili cook-off, etc. Other events can be scheduled, e.g., feeds, parties, reception, reunions, etc.

Characters is adaptable and most events include foods. In the past, Characters provided Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for its patrons.

CLIMATE

Characters is recognized for its homey atmosphere. The clientele is friendly and welcoming to new friendly folks. Characters is comprised of people who socialize, play and travel together.

It's a comradery where friendships are born and, in some cases, resulted in marriage; where people support and help one another; and where memorable moments have been created and shared.

TRAVEL

Characters’ comradery has led to a wealth of field trips and vacations, including annually, an overnight bus trip to Reno and a three-night stay in Las Vegas.

In addition, a group of characters usually plans a vacation to somewhere in the US - New Orleans, San Antonio, Nashville, Seattle, Niagara Falls and Clear Lake. These vacations are  great fun and memorable. You're welcome to join.
